Collection: Chemical Pumps
Backer Heatrod's range of chemical pumps
About Chemical Pumps
Heatrod’s range of chemical pumps is engineered to handle the most demanding industrial environments, offering safe and efficient transfer of corrosive liquids. These pumps are ideal for moving chemicals such as hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric, and hydrofluoric acids, making them a
trusted choice in chemical processing, metal finishing, and water treatment industries.
Each pump features a robust, corrosion-resistant construction as self-priming pumps - perfect for applications where tanks are located below ground level. With motor sizes ranging from 0.25kW to 1.5kW and flow rates up to 35m³/hr, these pumps deliver powerful performance while maintaining energy efficiency .
Braude chemical pumps are available with a choice of mechanical seals, including non-metallic options for aggressive chemical service and stainless steel for less demanding applications. Easy to install and maintain, they are built for long-term reliability and minimal downtime.
Whether you're upgrading an existing system or designing a new one, Heatrod’s chemical pumps provide a dependable solution for safe and effective chemical handling.

Chemical Pump Power Rating
- 0.25Kw Compact and efficient, ideal for light-duty chemical transfer in laboratory setups or small-scale plating tanks. Suitable for mildly corrosive fluids.
- 0.37KW Designed for continuous operation in small process tanks or rinse systems. Great for transferring acids and alkalis in confined spaces.
- 0.55kw A versatile mid-range pump for general-purpose chemical circulation in surface treatment lines or water treatment systems.
- 0.75 kw Ideal for medium-sized tanks and more aggressive chemical environments. Commonly used in electroplating, pickling, and etching processes.
- 1.12kw Built for demanding industrial applications such as high-volume acid transfer, chemical dosing, or effluent treatment.
- 1.5kw The most powerful in the range, suitable for large-scale chemical handling, including bulk transfer from underground tanks or high-head circulation systems.
Chemical Pump Seal Differences
When choosing between a non-metallic and a stainless steel mechanical seal for a chemical pump, the decision largely depends on the chemical composition and temperature of the fluid being handled.
Non-metallic seals are ideal for highly aggressive or corrosive chemicals such as hydrochloric, sulphuric, or hydrofluoric acids. These seals are constructed from chemically resistant materials like PTFE or ceramic, ensuring long-term durability in environments where metal components would degrade quickly. They are commonly used in chemical processing, pickling lines, and other harsh industrial applications.
Stainless steel seals are better suited for less aggressive fluids or where the chemical exposure is moderate. They offer excellent mechanical strength and are often used in applications involving water-based solutions, mild alkalis, or where cost-efficiency is a priority without compromising reliability—such as in water treatment or general industrial fluid transfer.
Choosing the right seal type ensures optimal pump performance, longer service life, and reduced maintenance in your specific application.
