Industrial Immersion Heaters

Backer Heatrod's industrial immersion heaters are built to heat water and process fluids in commercial and industrial environments. The range covers outputs from 3kW to 12kW, with single-phase and three-phase options across every wattage.


There are three core variants to choose from. The HR series is a light industrial immersion heater rated to IP55, suited to commercial hot water systems, HVAC buffer tanks and standard process heating. For more demanding conditions, the HRi heavy duty immersion heater is rated to IP68 and designed for applications where moisture ingress, vibration or continuous operation is a factor. Where the fluid being heated is corrosive or high-purity, the HRZ and HRZi titanium industrial immersion heaters provide the same wattage range with a corrosion-resistant titanium sheath.


All units are manufactured with Incoloy 825 sheathed elements and a standard 2¼" BSP screw fitting. Replacement thermostats, O-rings and accessories are stocked alongside the heaters, and next day delivery is available on in-stock items.

Industrial Immersion Heaters 
The standard HR series, covering 3kW, 6kW, 9kW and 12kW outputs. Each unit is fitted with an Incoloy 825 sheathed element and a 2¼" BSP screw fixing as standard. Single and three-phase wiring options are available across the full range, with a thermostat pocket included for temperature control.


Light Industrial Immersion Heaters 
IP55-rated units designed for commercial hot water systems, HVAC buffer tanks and standard process heating applications. A solid choice where the installation environment is dry or only occasionally exposed to moisture, and the heating load is consistent rather than continuous.


Heavy Duty Industrial Immersion Heaters 
The HRi series is rated to IP68 and built for applications where moisture ingress, vibration or uninterrupted operation is a factor. The same 3kW to 12kW wattage range as the standard HR, but in a housing engineered for more demanding industrial environments.


Titanium Industrial Immersion Heaters 
HRZ and HRZi heaters with a titanium sheath for use in process fluids where Incoloy is not suitable, typically where the liquid is mildly corrosive or high-purity. Available in both standard and heavy duty variants to match the duty rating of your application.


Corrosion Proof Heaters 
Braude Polaris fluoropolymer heaters for aggressive chemical environments. Designed for acid pickling, electroplating, anodising and chemical etching baths where a metal-sheathed heater would deteriorate. Available in several configurations to suit tank geometry and process requirements.


Accessories & Tools 
O-rings, backnuts, BSP adapters, immersion heater spanners and replacement caps, stocked for despatch alongside the heaters. Useful whether you're carrying out a like-for-like replacement or fitting a new unit into an existing system.
